Of course not. We also welcome friends and family over the age of 18. Everyone who is friends with or related to a member of the LGBTQIA+ community is invited.
Misthaven Resort offers a clothing-optional pool and laundry facilities. We also have a general store full of snacks and goodies, an on-site disc golf course, 30 and 50 amp sites and primitive sites. We sell and deliver firewood and propane. We've got a pavilion for shows and venues for other forms of recreation and offer a variety of themed weekends. And like most other campgrounds, we have shower and restroom facilities.
Yes, you can make reservations online through our website's reservation system. Be sure to review all the information on the website before making reservations.... there is a LOT of information that will help guide you to selecting the right site for you. Reading the guidelines BEFORE making reservations will save you potential hassle and disappointment when you arrive and discover something isn't just right.... something that could have been avoided by reading the information on the website.
Yes, but keep in mind that we do have rules for pets. Pets MUST remain leashed at all times, must not be left unattended and must be kept quiet and under control at all times (particularly after 10pm). Pet owners must also clean up after their pet.
Currently, no. We aren't yet set up for liquor sales. We do offer limited food options, such as pizzas and sandwiches on the weekends and our general store is stocked with a sizeable selection of soft drinks, coffees, energy drinks and so on.
Well, there is the pool and disc golf, of course. We plan to offer the standard fare fare of karaoke, plus a litany of other staples such as drag shows, perhaps an amateur comedy hour whereby campers get up on stage and open-mic their lines. We have themed weekends that correlate with holidays or areas of special interest, such as Bear and Cub weekends. We're planning pool parties and foam parties and social events and constantly coming up with new and fresh ideas to excite our visitors and want them to come visit.
We are a smaller campground and simply can't accommodate a small parking lot at every site. Besides, when it's wet and rainy, you absolutely don't want a bunch of cars in the park tearing up the place and slinging mud everywhere.
Currently at this time, the only planned clothing-optional area will be at the pool.
Absolutely not! The course is free to play if you are a camper. Non-campers wishing to play for the day will need to be 18+ and must check in at the store and pay the course fee prior to playing.
Nope! Come camp if you like to camp. But if you have no interest in camping and/or have no camping equipment, you're still welcome to come for the day. Simply stop in at the office to pay the daily pass fee. We usually have tents available to buy in the store for those needing one, and have a cabin and RVs to rent for those interested.
Simply head on over to the campgrpund office. We'll get you squared away with a membership. It's a fairly easy process. You'll pay the $25 membership fee for yourself (and an additional $25 for each person in your party). There is absolutely no admission to the property without paying the membership fee.
Next, you'll pay your admission fee. This will be either a) a daily use fee of $15 for yourself and everyone in your party, or b) you will pay your camping fee (if you haven't already done so online when making your reservation).
Yes. Your membership fee helps PAY for the drag show, and everything else that goes on at the campground. Your membership fee is an annual cost that everyone pays regardless of how much or how little they come to visit. It's sort of like the annual membership pass at an amusement park: you're going to pay regardless of how many times you go. And once you do go to the park, you're still going to pay additional amounts for food, soft drinks, souvenirs and in-ride pictures. Everyone pays a mandatory membership fee just for the privilege of being able to step foot on the property.
Please don't call or text and ask who all is here. Most times we can't answer that question, because of the constant fluid nature of the guests. Guests are constantly coming and going, so we can't possibly know who all is here. And even if we could answer that question for you, it could change by the time you did arrive. Other variations of the same question we cannot answer are: "How many are there?" "Any young men there?" "Any gay men there?" We don't walk around with a clipboard and take a survey. We can't possibly answer how many ______ men or women are on-site. "How many daddies are there?" "How many lesbians are there?" "How many tops are there?" "How many bottoms are there?" All of these are impossible questions that we can't possibly answer.
Yes. Just as at a theme park, at some point that day pass expires. At Misthaven, that time is 10pm. The only exception to this rule is if we are having an event, such as a drag show, if it happens to go beyond 10pm. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STAY BEYOND THIS 10PM TIMEFRAME. If you want to stay beyond 10pm, simply ask at the office and we can set you up for an overnight stay.
Our process takes a few minutes to get you in to the system, so please be patient. First, we will collect some basic information about you (name, address, phone number, etc.). You may be handed an ipad to type this info yourself. Next, we'll need to see a photo ID. We are REQUIRED to collect information and verify identities by checking ID's. Please don't make this process difficult by being argumentative. Next, we will ask you to sign our waiver. Once that is completed, we will ask for payment for the annual membership fee, as well as the day pass fee if you intend to stay the day you get your membership. Once all that is completed, we will issue you a membership card, which will expire one year after the date it was issued. We will also issue a vehicle tag and an arm bracelet, BOTH OF WHICH MUST BE APPLED. If we see vehicles in the campground without a visitor tag, and if it is blocking someone else in, for example, we will call to have it towed
Complaints are a normal situation that every business must handle. We handle them here when they do arise, but, please note that there is a CORRECT way to voice a complaint. Please don't complain about things that are beyond the control of any human being or business entity. For example, don't complain to the office if you get a flat tire, or if no one talks to you at the pool (yes, this has happened!), or if it rains and your tent gets flooded.
If you have complaint-worthy issues, make them known to management IMMEDIATELY (within reason). Don't wait until the next day, or on your last day, or after you have left, then demand a refund. Prudence and protocol dictate that you make any wrongs known immediately so that management has the time to investigate them and correct them.
Please be cognizant of the time of day when considering making a complaint. Calling at 2 am about rain water pouring in to your RV rental after a branch landed on the roof is acceptable. Calling at 2 am about your bathroom light not working.... probably can wait until we open the office the following day.
Also note that camping involves a whole new set of circumstances to which you might be accustomed. Camping means being exposed to poison ivy and poison oak, wasps and mosquitoes, wild animals and rodents and strange noises in the middle of the night that you may not be used to. So, camping means making adjustments and allowances for these sorts of events, and adds a unique dimension to the whole experience. They call it camping for a reason; otherwise, you'd have chosen to stay at the Holiday Inn.
We take strident measures to control the pests that we can; this means we knock down wasp's nests when we find them, put down ant bait when they invade a cabin or RV, and take preventative measures to trap small rodents BEFORE they get in to a cabin or RV. There is no campground on the planet that can guarantee you won't see an army of ants crawling throughout your RV, or that you will not see the occasional mouse that snuck in looking for the Doritoes you left out on the table.
So as unpleasant as some of these camping-related instances may be, please take them with a grain of salt, as there isn't an RV owner or homeowner on the planet who hasn't found a trail of ants in the kitchen, a wasp's nest in the corner outside, or mouse droppings somewhere where they shouldn't be.
Just know that we are just as aware of ants, wasps and mice as the next guy, and we're taking measures to minimize them during your stay.
