Welcome to Misthaven Resort RV Park, the new destination for all things LGBTQIA - related!
Below you will find a map of the campground to orient yourselves to the layout. To anyone who happens to be fans of the 'Once Upon a Time' TV series, you may notice that some of the "street" names on the map sound familiar.
The map is available for download under the download tab.
Be sure to read the notes we've typed up below the map.
Everyone wants something different from their campsite. So we've added few notes here to help guide you to the sites that might best suite your tastes.
Keep in mind the map isn't anywhere close to being to scale. It's just for general reference. The map shows where each numbered site is, but please keep in mind that although you may select site #4, for example, you may not end up on site #4 when you arrive. This is because our reservation system is designed for site optimization. Most campgrounds use this same software. This means that if the reservation software determines that it would be better to move you from site #4, for example, to site #33, for example, it will do so. Normally this only happens when the campground is filling up and the software is trying to make room for everyone. If you REALLY have your heart set on a specific site number, you have the option to pay the site lock fee at the time of reservation-making.
If you have a bigger RV, as in 35' +, you might opt for sites 90, 91, and 100 - 105. These sites offer the most room to swing around a gargantuan RV and get that sucker backed in there.
If 5G cell connectivity is important, sites 90 - 105 offer the greatest cell coverage. Cell coverage starts to drop off as you get further back in to the campground, around the Ruby Lane area and points further north. A dense summer tree canopy will eat up a lot of that cell signal back there in this area.
Sites 1 - 8 offer the fewest steps to the restrooms and pool.
Most of our sites are heavily shaded.... so much so that most can get by with minimal AC. Site 26 is probably our shadiest spot of all. It's a popular site that's close to the pool and restrooms, close to the entrance to the campground. You get a nice front row seat of everyone coming and going from site 26. It's a back-in site.
Sites 91 and 92 are our ONLY two 50 amp sites. We have more 50 amp sites scheduled for upgrades later. Bear in mind that even if your RV is rated for 50 amps, you can almost certainly run it on a 30 amp site with an adaptor. This is very common. Our campground is so shady that you will be able to cool your entire rig with just one rooftop AC unit. People here do it all the time. Thirty amps is plenty enough to run one rooftop AC unit, the refridge and the micro plus charge your cell phones and laptops.
Sites 90 - 96 and 100 - 103 are our ONLY sewer sites.
Some of our sites have very nice decks already on-site, having been built and left by previous campers. We will help guide you in to sites that have decks so you don't beat up your RV or our decks.
Sites along Scenic Way offer greater privacy, as fewer RVs are passing through that end of the loop. Most of the sites along Scenic Way are seasonal only. David Court tends to get a lot of disc golf foot traffic as players make their way to the course.
Most of our sites have electric. Sites 85, 52 and 53 do not have electric. They are primitive sites. ALL of our other sites (except 90 and 91) are 30 amp sites. We do our best to keep on top of the sites, but occasionally, inevitably, someone lands on a site where the previous user tried to plug in too much and blew the outlet up. As always, we will be as accommodating as we can in such cases. The #1 thing every RV'er should do when backing in to a site is to first plug the rig in to see if there is power at the electrical pole. Do this before you level the thing out and hook up the water and all the rest.
ALL of our sites have water, except 85, 52 and 53. As always, water line filters are recommended at the tap at any campground. We sell these filters in the office.
Sites 4 - 8, 29 - 34 and 71 - 78 are our most popular pull-through sites. Most of these can accommodate at least a 30 foot trailer. Some of our sites are back-in and others are pull-in. We ALWAYS lead people to their site, and assist with backing in if needed. As always, it is extremely important to know how big your rig is before making reservations, as some of our sites cannot accommodate plus-sized RV's. If you arrive and discover upon arrival that you cannot fit in the site you've selected, we will do our best to get you to a site where you will fit. That site may not have the amenities you originally paid for when you made your reservation. We apologize for this in advance, and will make every effort to get you to a site that best suits you, your RV and the amenities you paid for.
Most of our sites have 110 outlets, but not all of them work. This is an issue we inherited when we bought the campground. If you get a site that has a functioning 110 outlet, consider it a bonus. If you are at a site and absolutely need a functioning 110 outlet, you may need to simply use one of the outlets in your RV. These 110 outlets get a lot of abuse and they get beat up by users plugging everything imaginable in to them. We replace them as quick as we can, but we likely cannot get to your non-working 110 outlet for a repair at the drop of a hat because doing so requires shutting off the power to your site as well as those of your neighbors (since they're almost certainly on the same breaker).
PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE WATER TREATMENT AREA AS SHOWN ON THE MAP. Also, please stay out of the red barn and the areas between the barns and behind them. These areas are strictly off-limits. Please stay away from the propane filling station or attempt to fill tanks yourself, and certainly don't smoke anywhere near the filling station. And, certainly stay away from the people living and working on neighboring properties. If you wander on to someone else's property, they are well within their rights to call law enforcement on you. That's one mess you are not going to want to tangle with.
Again, we cannot stress often enough, we JUST acquired this campground in 2023, and JUST re-opened it as a gay campground in 2024. There is still a lot of work and upgrades that need done. We already know we need more sewer and 50 amp sites. We already know we need more shower and restroom facilities. All that is on the drawing board. If we waited to open this thing up as a gay campground until ALL the upgrades were done, it would have been 2027 or 2028 before we opened our doors to the gay community. This is your opportunity to jump in on the ground floor of a brand-new gay recreational getaway outlet and watch us grow and evolve. You're going to want to stick around to see what we have on the drawing board!
