We announced our transition to an LGBTQ-themed campground/ entertainment venue in January, and now, low and behold, we've made the switch. We opened our doors for the season on April 1st, 2024, and have had a steady stream of visitors on opening day who swung on through to check the place out.
Check us out on facebook and twitter (now called X) for updates. We have a lot of interesting things coming to the campground. You aren't going to want to miss any of it!
We are excited to have you as our guest. Misthaven Resort offers a beautiful location for you to enjoy your stay. Whether you're here for a weekend or an extended period, we strive to make your experience comfortable and memorable. Browse our website to learn more about what Misthaven Resort has to offer. This website should answer most of your questions.
Although we're running the joint as a campground, that doesn't mean you're excluded if you aren't much of a camper! We will be issuing day passes for those who just want to come visit the grounds for the day, without camping overnight.
Feel free to contact us with any questions or reservations. We look forward to seeing you soon!
There's been some confusion that we hope to clear up here.
Misthaven Resort is a members-only establishment. That means that everyone who comes onto the property must be a paying member.
Memberships are $15 per person and are valid for a full year.
We are accepting of anyone 18 years old and over who fall under the LGBTQIA+ spectrum: men, women, bi-, trans, and so on.
Of course the campground is open to our straight friends as well. We weren't as clear on these topics on our website as we should have been from the onset.
The bottom line is that we welcome the LGBTQIA+ community, and friends of the LGBTQIA+ community (we'll refer to this as "LGBTQIA+friends" on our website). This means if you're gay or trans, for example, and your straight friends want to come with you to check it all out, bring 'em. If you're gay, but your bf isn't, and he wants to come check the place out, bring him, LOL.
We know, we've heard the comments..... our website is quite the lengthy read. Part of our mission is to let you know what to expect before you get here. You want to know what sites your rig will fit on, right? And which sites have shade, sewer hookups and all the rest?
Well, the only way to let you know what to expect before you arrive is to tell you on our website. And, the only way for you to know our rules and expectations is to spell them out on our website. Know-before-you-go is our motto, so we think we're doing you a disservice if we don't give you the necessary information on our website.
Now, you're not forced to read over any of it. Skip any sections you don't care to read about. Throughout the 2023 season we had COUNTLESS people tell us "Well, I didn't know that....." or "I wish I would have known that before I made reservations...." So our website is our way of being proactive in that respect so that you DO know (or should know) before you arrive or make reservations, because it's all spelled out for you here.
The more questions we can get answered on our website mean less questions that we'll have to answer later on, either by phone or email. The less time we have to spend answering questions is more time we have to plan events and take care of guests.
So, in the end, a detailed website gives you the information you need to make decisions BEFORE your reservations. It also means fewer questions we need to answer so we can tend to other duties.
